  Indonesia: Technical advice was provided for the six state-owned solar saltworks of P.N.Garam which, due to a changing political environment, had become commercially unviable (1968 - auspices, Colombo Plan).
Puerto Rico: Assistance, following the devastation of Hurricane David, for the rehabilitation, operation and subsequent modernisation of the Candelaria and Fraternidad solar saltworks and for the design and commissioning of its first washing plant (1981-88 - Cabo Rojo).
Oman: Feasibility study and subsequent design and construction of a solar saltworks using formation water from nearby oil production wells, coupled to a gas-fired evaporator to produce 99.99% NaCl salt without needing any brine treatment (1987-93 - Modern Salt Co).
Eritrea: Techno-economic review of the salt industry, including market surveys and a technical audit of the existing solar saltworks and proposals for upgrading those at Massawa and Assab (1996-97 - Government of Eritrea).
Anglesey: Design, procurement, erection and commissioning of succesive stages of the expansion of a salt plant producing ultra- high-quality salt for culinary use in the UK gourmet market (1998-2001 - Halen Mon, supported by the WDA)
Northwich: Cox and Speller are the designers for the new open pan saltworks for the Lion Saltworks Trust - featured in the BBC "Restoration" series, and recently awarded Heritage Lottery funding. When commissioned, visitors will see block salt made by traditional 19th Century technology whilst conforming to 21st Century standards.
